Mera Peak ClimbingMera peak is considered one of the major and popular trekking peaks in Nepal. The Peak itself rises to the south of Everest. The ascent of the peak is technically straightforward, however, the heavy snow and the maze of crevasses can make the way longer to the summit. Besides the charm of climbing Mera Peak, the trek to its base camp from Lukla is rewarding for experiencing little-visited and as yet unspoilt region of Nepal with densely forested hill sides. The views from on the mountain (and even from high camp) are spectacular – the Himalayan giants of Mt Everest, Lhotse and Makalu (ranked 1, 4 and 5 among the world highest peaks) surround you, with Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga to either side and a multitude of intervening glaciers.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu, transfer to hotel 1300m

Day 02: Guided tour of Kathmandu, preparation for trek

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Chutanga 3100m

Day 04: Cross Zatra La pass and trek to Tuli Kharka 4400m

Day 05: Tuli Kharka to Tashing Ongma 3600m

Day 06: Trek to Tangnag 4350m

Day 07: Tangnag to Khare 5100m

Day 08: Acclimatisation Day at Khare 5100m

Day 09: Khare to Mera La pass/ base camp 5415m

Day 10: Mera La to High Camp 5800m

Day 11: Summit Mera Peak (6476m), return to Base Camp at Mera La 5415m

Day 12: Mera La to Tangnag 4350m

Day 13: Tangnag to Tashing Ongma 3600m

Day 14: Tashing Ongma to Tuli Kharka 4400m

Day 15: Tuli Kharka to Lukla 2800m

Day 16: Fly to Kathmandu
