Annapurna Circuit Trek - Round Annapurna

annapurna circuit trek

Annapurna circuit trek is often referred as naturalist's paradise for its terrace farmed fields, Rhododendron forests, diverse Himalayan culture, massive range of seven and eight thousand meter mountains. Since its opening  to foreigners in 1977, Annapurna Circuit Trek is popular as one of the most spectacular and varied walks in the Himalayan region with lush green valleys and fascinating villages that offer exciting snow-capped views of the white Himalayas. Fascinating insight into the life of middle hill Nepalese culture of Gurung, Manangi , Thakali, Cheetri and Brahmins are the other best thing that a trekkers get from Annapurna Circuit Trek. You can view the magnificent Dhaulagiri 26952 ft, 8167m, Annapurna I 26700 ft, 8091m, Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna South (7219m), Dahulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), Machhapurchhere (Fishtail 6993m) Hingchuli (644m), Gangapurna (7219m). Like the Annapurna Base Camp trek, Round Annapurna Trek is an awe inspiring trek of incredible diversity and recognized as one of the World’s best trekking trails according to a survey by Modern Maturity (US). It is considered by many as one of the world classics.

Annapurna circuit trek also known as Annapurna round trek starts from around 800m and climbs up to the altitude of 5416m while crossing the world's biggest pass Throung-la. The landscape gets even more arid as you enter upper manang also called nyeshang. Setting foots on the Annapurna trail is like travelling back to centuries through time machine. The trappings and distractions of modern society vanish. A place where still ox and bulls ploughs the fields. Since everything is carried up the mountains on the backs of porters, most of the items are expensive compared to that of Kathmandu or Pokhara.

As we descend to the west at Muktinath, from pass we continue to the barren Tibetan like village of Jarkot and Kagbeni - the world's deepest Gorge passes between the giant Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. The Annapurna circuit trek is an anticlockwise route starting from Bhulbhule and ends at Jomsom or Pokhara
