Mera Peak (6470m.) - Amphu Laptse (5845m) Pass Trekking

Mera Peak (6461m) is the highest trekking peak in Nepal and a suitable challenge for a first time climb in the Himalaya. Our specially devised itinerary allows optimum time for building fitness and acclimatisation - key factors that have contributed to our success record. On our trek - that leads though the traditional Sherpa villages of the Solu Khumbu and the blue pine and rhododendron forest trails of the Hinku Valley - you appreciate why we have selected this magnificent approach to the base camp. Fully acclimatized we ascend to a high camp just below Mera La and prepare for our attempt on the main summit of Mera Peak. The ascent is not technically demanding and unequalled views of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu will more than satisfy your aspirations on this fine Himalayan climb..
The altitude of Mera Peak is 6654m. Above sea level, Mera peak was an almost overlooked mountain to the east of the main Khumbu trekking trails. It is situated in the Everest region in a remote valley, Mera peak is a non technical mountain. It is suitable for anyone of average or above average fitness wishing to fulfil the dream of a high Himalayan summit or those with a yearning for adventure. When you stand upon the summit, spread before you will be an unbelievable panorama of peaks such as Mt. Everest, Makalu & hundreds of other beautiful mountains. We follow the original Everest expedition route at the trail head from Lukla, cross spectacular gorges and visit the Peak before entering Sherpa regions of Solu Khumbu, the wilderness of Hinku Valley. This is a fascinating trek in itself. Ample time for acclimation is allowed en route to our base camp on the Mera La (Pass). The return to Kathmandu is easy for your plane will get back to the wonderful Sherpa areas and the gigantic Himalayas
This trip is long and strenuous and the crossing of the Larkya La requires excellent physical conditioning, acclimatization to the high altitude and of course good weather.
